The Lotus Icon:
The lotus flower grows in muddy water and rises above the surface to bloom with remarkable beauty. At night the flower closes and sinks underwater, at dawn, it rises and opens again.
The lotus flower represents long life, health, honor and good luck. It is also
a tremendous influence for creative art, meditation, and intrinsic connectivity
with our surroundings as we perceive them.
I can picture the photography studio having large vases in your studio, filled with water and
colorful lotus flowers floating on the surface. This would be a very
stunning effect and create a compelling creative atmosphere in the studio.
Your Name:
By combining the letters 'N' and 'M' in the name we are able to super impose
the two letters into one. This creates a unique, almost illusionary effect, of
seeing the first name on one side "Ron" while also seeing the last name (which
we wanted to emphasize) on the other.
The Word Photography:
It is important to state what you do. The text 'photography' is inverted
and reversed; paying homage to camera obscura, the historical pin-hole cameras
of 1940.
Readability is still prominent and my research shows that no one else has used
this approach to connect modern photography with its roots in their logo.
The Colors:
Neutral colors were chosen because we do not want the logo to take attention away from your photography, it should EXEMPLIFY your photography.
A light hue of brown because it is an inviting warm color and implies
genuineness and the gray color, while also neutral, is known to stimulate
creativity.
